第三代喹诺酮类抗菌药，有广谱的抗菌作用，其抗菌谱和抗菌活性和氟哌酸类似。通过干扰DNA的复制以及菌体蛋白的合成而发挥抑制或杀灭细菌的作用。对金葡菌具有较强的抗菌作用，对多种革兰阴性菌及耐氨苄青霉素、TMP头孢V号的菌株有非常强的抗菌作用，对肠道细菌和第三代头孢菌素一样有效，但对厌氧菌、结核杆菌、梭状芽孢菌作用较差。不易产生耐药性。用于败血症，菌性脑膜炎，呼吸道、尿道、肾、肝胆、妇科疾病，骨和关节等感染。
